This video documents a visit to the Maritime Center during the renovation of this historic building - it shows the 1943 building lifted up off the ground to allow workers to install a new foundation, shows the "secret exit" for children to slide down from the second floor, and reviews the history and original design thinking about the Maritime Center.
H+A’s design for the public facilities at Portsmouth Square in San Francisco's Chinatown district received an Honor Award in the Public/Civic Design category. The design concept was a modern interpretation of traditional Chinese architecture.
“Riveting in Richmond” was the editorial feature on Maritime Center in the March/April issue of Green Building & Design, including an interview with H+A principal Chad Hamilton.

SFO T3 wins 2015 IIDA Serve Merit Award – the award is given by the International Interior Design Association. The project was recognized for its "clean, modern and efficient traveler experience. The design features a range of elements that offer travelers a place where they will enjoy spending time."

SFO T3 Boarding Area E wins Airports/Transit Award of Merit for ENR California’s Best Projects 2014 Awards.

Hamilton + Aitken Architects and associate architects Siegel & Strain Architects received an Honor Award in the Historic Preservation category at the San Francisco AIA Awards for the LEED Gold, Rehabilitation of the Maritime Center in Richmond. Chad and Susan enjoyed the Gala at the SFJazz Center but didn’t take any selfies.
