Job Captain Nnamdi Ihemelu took the HA+A team to the SF Armory on April 28, where Project Manager Mizell of Plant Construction welcomed the group for a project tour. Immediately before joining H+AA, Nnamdi was on the design team of the SF Armory renovation.

Nnamdi shared, “In assisting in the restoration and renovation of the SF Armory, I had the privilege of making sure that future generations of San Franciscans can safely use this bold and unique building.

“The SF Armory has been part of San Francisco's history for over a century. In its early life, it was an Army National Guard station. Its most recent use was as an entertainment venue and film studio.

“Due to its age, size, and location in an area of weak soil, the building required repair and restoration.

“The scope of work carried out on the Armory consisted of a parapet repair at the Julian Street frontage, voluntary structural upgrades throughout the building, accessibility upgrades, as well as new electrical service.

“Being able to share with my HA+A colleagues the knowledge gained from my experience working on this iconic building was invaluable.”

We appreciate the opportunity to add Nnamdi's expertise in designing challenging solutions for building reuse and renovation to our team.
