Campus Learning Center

City College of San Francisco

The new Phelan Campus Learning Center is organized along an open concourse, using open benching to foster more student interaction.

Three computer studios open onto the concourse, with glazed walls for visual supervision.  Each studio can be used for small to medium sized group instruction, with built-in projectors and screens for media-rich learning.

When not used as instructional space, each studio can be opened up to the concourse for additional individuals or small groups with 170 computer stations.

A well-organized support services counter helps staff visually supervise the entire Center from a central location, with new staff work areas, storage and server room nearby.

Other improvements to Batmale Hall include HVAC and energy management system upgrades, including a new multi-stage chiller plant for improved energy savings.
